The reveal: fireworks as Comedy club takes first place, over Karaoke in second and Rooftop bar in third. A ballot with Comedy club ranked first and Karaoke second, and three plans left to place.

How it works

How to plan a night out as a group, step by step

Here's one vote, five friends picking tonight's plan, screen by screen.

  1. Setting up a vote called Night Out as a Single Winner vote, with five plans.

    1Step 1 of 5

    Add the plans and start

Tap Night Out on the home screen and type in the ideas your group is weighing. Three to six is plenty. Keep Single Winner and tap Start Hosting.

  2. The host's room with five people joined: Majestic Akita, Alex, Jess, Marcus and Taylor.

    2Step 2 of 5

    Friends join with a tap

Phones on the same Wi‑Fi find your vote and join with one tap. There are no accounts or codes to type. When everyone's in, tap Start Vote.

Planning ahead from different places? With Bestof Unlocked, share a link to the group chat instead.

  3. A ballot with Comedy club ranked first and Karaoke second, and three plans left to place.

    3Step 3 of 5

    Everyone ranks, in private

Each person taps the plans in order, best first. Ballots stay private, so the quiet friend who hates karaoke gets the same say as the loudest one.

  4. The reveal: fireworks as Comedy club takes first place, over Karaoke in second and Rooftop bar in third.

    4Step 4 of 5

    Reveal tonight's plan

When the last ballot is in, every phone plays the reveal at once: third place, then second, then fireworks for the winner. Grab your coats.

  5. Results for Night Out, with Comedy club winning, Karaoke second, and a consensus meter reading Close call.

    5Step 5 of 5

    See why it won

Karaoke got the most first picks, but Comedy club was high on nearly everyone's list, so it's the night everyone's glad they came to.
